As I mentioned in the notes for Beautiful Day, my wife has been a huge inspiration on this project. I personally feel there are not enough love songs in HIPHOP music so I wanted to try my hand at one and hopefully express how much she means to me. There are a handful of great love songs in HIPHOP and only a few artists have been brave enough to record them, (LL Cool J, Masta Ace, The Roots, Common, Mos Def, Brother Ali, J-Live, KRS-One, Q Tip), I guess because it is such a male, testosterone driven culture. It is a real shame. I had actually wrote the majority of this before our wedding in hopes of using it as part of my wedding vows but I just wasn't able to complete it and memorize it in time. What more can I say?
